On September 10th, the "Second China International Recirculating Aquaculture Shrimp Congress and the First Specialized Equipment Exhibition for Shrimp Farming" themed on "Technology Changing the Way of Shrimp Farming" was successfully held in Weifang, Shandong.

Under the guidance of the National Aquaculture Industry Technology System, the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA), the Fisheries Machinery and Instrument Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the Key Laboratory of Facility Fisheries Education Department, the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the congress was hosted by Aquaculture Frontier and co-hosted by China Aquaculture Frontier Exhibition, with Industrial Aquaculture Circle as the organizer and Suzhou Ketu Water Treatment Equipment Co., Ltd. as a special supporter.

Experts and practitioners from various factory-based shrimp farming industries across Xinjiang, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hainan, and Guangdong-Guangxi regions gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics and core technologies, aiming to promote the sustainable development of recirculating aquaculture for shrimp.

Wu Zhanhong, the Deputy General Manager of Ketu Water Treatment, presented a report on how to select micro-filters for factory-based shrimp farming. Micro-filters play a crucial role in recirculating aquaculture, effectively collecting and removing residual bait and feces suspended in the water, thus reducing the excessive production of harmful substances such as ammonia and nitrogen. However, there are often issues during the use of micro-filters, primarily due to factors like design, technology, and materials.

In selecting micro-filters, one should consider both filtration effectiveness and stability, which are determined by the core filter mesh and backwashing system. Ketu Water Treatment has chosen a synthetic resin material filter mesh with stable physical properties, corrosion resistance, and uniformity in wire diameter and aperture. The backwashing system has undergone rigorous testing and design in terms of pressure, nozzles, Y-type filters, inlet pipelines, and the tightness of the mesh sheets to ensure the effectiveness of the micro-filters. In addition, routine maintenance and upkeep are also essential. Through Mr. Wu's presentation, participants gained clarity on issues related to the selection and usage of micro-filters.

At the congress, Ketu Water Treatment displayed micro-filters, automatic feeding machines, and other equipment, attracting numerous participants to inquire and learn more about them.
